A Quinta

Located on the north shore of São Miguel, “Quinta MORAZES” was, for a long time, a wine-producing property. The main house with the wine cellar on the ground floor was built in the 19th century. It also served as a summer residence for the family, where they would enjoy the great views of the ocean and mountain from the balcony. The construction of the Stone House and labyrinth garden were completed in 1914, and the property remained almost unchanged until the beginning of the new century.

In 2003 ‘Quinta MORAZES’ underwent remodeling and the wine cellar was transformed into a two bedroom apartment to accommodate tourism. Today, as in the past, our guests continue to enjoy the centennial garden and the splendid views from the balcony. After a well spent day exploring the island, relax under the shade of the wisteria pergola or by the “fire pit”.
